About us
Kayakalp, the Center in Sadashiv Peth, that treats epilation if the unwanted facial hair of a gentleman or a lady by the method using high voltage electrical current passing through a thin needle, (electrolysis) enters its Silver Jubilee year on 5th December 1998. The "Kayalalp "center, which has undergone modernization and expansion recently, will be inaugurated at the hands of skin specialist Dr. Mohan Gharpure, at Bharat Natya Mandir on the same day evening. There will be the slideshow presentation on the subject of "The Reasons and Remedies on unwanted facial hair and Report of the work of the last 25 years". informed Jyoti Dhamdhere, the Chief of the Center.
What is electrolysis? Electrolysis is a a hair removal technique that employs the application of a controlled electrical current directly into the individual hair follicles via a fine sterile needle. This electrical current destroys the hair growth cells, preventing future hair growth in that follicle. Electrolysis is considered the only FDA approved method for permanent hair removal and is effective across all hair colours and skin types, unlike laser treatments that rely on pigment targeting.
About Mrs. Jyoti Dhamdhere

Mrs Jyoti On how she developed her method of electrolysis: Initially the machine she bought from England had very low voltage of electricity. The needle they used was also very thin.It was observed that the process of epilation would be a lengthy one. Therefore, taking into account the texture, the thickness of the skin and also the tolerance of Indian women, she made changes in the machine with the help of an engineer , so as to get more voltage of electrical current. She also started using the needles made in India which are a bit thicker.
As a result, the treatment became faster and patients confidence in this method also increased. For almost fifteeen years she treated many patients successfully. In 1990 she went to USA for training and learned the latest technique in this field i.e Blending and Autoblending.
Her previous experience and these new techniques made wonders. The whole treatment became faster and accurate. But she still feels that treating a patient is an art. Every patient is a new case. She has to think and act differently with every patient. Taking into account each patients skin, hair type , tolerance, location of the hair, she makes changes. And this is the reason of " Kayakalp"s huge success in this field.
She the developed her own method of electrolysis. The machine brought from England had very low voltage of electricity. The needle was also very thin. It was observed that the process of epilation would be a lengthy one. Therefore, taking into account the texture, the thickness of the skin, as also the tolerance of the Indian women, She made changes in the machine with the help of experts. She also started using needles made in India. As the results were good, patients confidence in this method also increased.
Today 'Kayakalp Electrolysis Clinic' is the largest center in maharashtra, facilitating treatment of nine patients at a time.
